"Dance Monkey" is a song by Australian singer Tones and I, released on 10 May 2019 as the second single from Tones and I's debut EP The Kids Are Coming. It reached number one in Australia. Outside Australia, "Dance Monkey" has also topped the charts in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and peaked within the top ten in France, Iceland and Italy. Upon reaching its tenth week at the top of the Australian Singles Chart, "Dance Monkey" broke the record for the most weeks at number one on the chart by an Australian act, previously held by Justice Crew's 2014 song "Que Sera".

"This Is Who I Am" is the first single from Vanessa Amorosi's album Hazardous. The song, "This Is Who I Am", made its radio debut on the Kyle & Jackie O show on 28 August 2009 on the Fox FM radio station in Melbourne. The single was released in Australia on 9 October 2009.

In its second week on #1 in the ARIA charts the song achieved Gold status in Australia and had been certified Platinum in its 8th week of release.

"Riptide" is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy.

The song received positive reviews from music critics, who praised its lyrics, vocals and production and drew comparisons to singer-songwriters Paul Kelly and Jeff Buckley. "Riptide" would go on to have commercial success in Australia, peaking at number six on the ARIA singles chart and subsequently being named the number one song in radio station Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2013. The following year, "Riptide" also peaked at number ten in the United Kingdom and entered Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, peaking at number 1. By May 2015, it was the second longest charting single still in the US Billboard Hot 100, appearing on that list for 43 weeks (at number 42 from its peak of number 30).

In May 2015, it was announced that "Riptide" had become the longest-charting song in ARIA Chart history, having remained in the top 100 for 107 weeks and counting. It surpassed previous record holder, Poker Face by Lady Gaga's 106 week record. In January 2016, the week count was at 120.

UNCANNY X-MEN

"Flaunt It" debuted at #3 on the Australian ARIA singles chart on 26 February 2006, before climbing to #2 and then hitting #1 the following week. "Flaunt It" spent four consecutive weeks at #1 before being succeeded by Youth Group's "Forever Young". A week later, it had returned to the summit for a 5th week.

"Flaunt It" stayed in the Top 10 of the Australian charts for 22 consecutive weeks, giving it the title of the longest Top 10 charting single ever by an Australian artist (beating Silverchair's "Tomorrow" in 1994-1995, which spent a total of 19 consecutive weeks in the Top 10).

TROYE SIVAN

"Happy Little Pill" is a single by singer and songwriter Troye Sivan.The song is the first single from TRXYE, his first extended play(EP) released by a major label. It was released digitally on 25 July 2014. The song was written by Troye Sivan, Brandon Rogers, and Tat Tong.

"Happy Little Pill" peaked at number 10 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart (aided by the sales of his extended play TRXYE that were not eligible to chart on the Australian Albums Chart) and was certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association for sales exceeding 35,000 copies. The single received critical acclaim for its mature sound.

"I Want You" is a pop song performed by Australian actress/singer Toni Pearen, released as the second single from her debut album Intimate in 1993. The song peaked at number ten on the ARIA Singles Chart, spent twenty weeks in the top 100 and was certified gold.

"I Want You" garnered Toni Pearen an ARIA Award nomination for Best Pop Release in 1994, her only ARIA nomination.

"Burn" is a song written by Tina Arena, Pam Reswick and Steve Werfel for Arena's third album In Deep (1997). The song was extremely successful in her native Australia reaching #2 on the ARIA Singles Chart and it was certified gold. Arena also recorded the song in Spanish, and the Italian version "Ti Voglio Qui" and was released as a single in several countries in Europe and Australia.

In 2000, "Burn" was covered by American country music singer Jo Dee Messina and her version reached #2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

TIMOMATIC

"Set It Off" is the debut single by Australian recording artist Timomatic, released digitally on 18 November 2011, as the lead single from his self-titled second studio album. It was written by Timomatic and DNA Songs, who also produced the track. Timomatic stated that the song is "about having fun on the dance floor" and loving life. "Set It Off" peaked at number two on the ARIA Singles Chartand was certified four times platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association. It also appeared on the New Zealand Singles Chart at number 14 and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand.

"20 Good Reasons" was the first single from Thirsty Merc's second album Slideshows. It was released on 17 March 2007 and is to date the band's highest charting single, reaching number four on the Australian Singles Chart and number seventeen on the New Zealand Singles Chart. The song was nominated for 'Song Of The Year' at the 2008 APRA awards. The single was also the number one most added track to radio across Australia in March 2007.

Their 1992 single, "Happy Birthday Helen" reached No. 9 on the ARIA Singles Chart, which was written by lead vocalist Greg Arnold for his then-girlfriend, whom he later married.

THE WRIGHTS

Their first and only single was a cover version of Stevie Wright's song "Evie", an 11 minute song consisting of three parts. "Evie (Pt 1)" was first performed at the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) awards in 2004. They performed the whole trilogy live for the first time at the Sydney Cricket Ground as part of WaveAid, and it was released as a single in February 2005. "Evie (Pt 1)" featured Nic Cester as the vocalist, while Pts 2 and 3 featured vocalists Bernard Fanning of Powderfinger and Phil Jamieson of Grinspoon. The profits for the single were donated to Stevie Wright and the Salvation Army to improve drug and alcohol rehabilitation, as well as the Red Cross for the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. The single debuted at No. 2 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart in March 2005

THE VERONICAS

"Hook Me Up" is a song recorded by Australian duo The Veronicas for their second album of the same name (2007). Produced byGreg Wells and Engineered by Drew Pearson, it was released as the album's lead single on 18 August 2007 as a digital download. The down-tempo, electropop-dance song, is a change in direction from the pop rock sound from their previous album, The Secret Life Of... (2005). It was written by The Veronicas' twin sisters, Jessica Origliasso and Lisa Origliasso, together with Shelly Peiken and Wells. The central theme of "Hook Me Up" is about escaping reality and the stresses of life.

The recording was well received by critics who praised the song for its "dance-floor friendly" sound. It was commercially successful peaking at number-one on the Australian ARIA Singles Charts, giving The Veronicas their first number-one single. The accompanying music video portrays Jessica and Lisa in a boarding school rebellion. "Hook Me Up" was performed at the 2008 Australia Day Live Concert as well as on the Hook Me Up and Revenge Is Sweeter tours, in 2007 and 2009, respectively. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2008, it was nominated for "Highest Selling Single".

THE TWO MAN BAND

"Up There Cazaly" is 1979 song recorded and composed by Mike Brady. It is named after an Australian rules football catchphrase inspired by early 20th century St Kilda and South Melbourne great Roy Cazaly. It was used by teammate Fred "Skeeter" Fleiter and others when they wanted Cazaly to hit the ball clear of ruck contests.

The song was intended as a promotion for Channel Seven's VFL coverage. The single, released on the independent Fable Recordslabel, sold over 250,000 copies and became the largest-selling Australian single ever released up to that time. It has since become synonymous with Australian football, and has featured as the pre/post-match entertainment of many VFL/AFL Grand Finals.

The song's tune has an unusual key scheme: the verses are in D major, and the chorus is in F major, which is a fairly distant, unrelated key, especially for a popular song; and its final repetition is in G major, in which key the song ends. The song is also used as the walkout tune for Tonbridge Angels in the United Kingdom. The song is also used as a fan chant for Derby County F.C. supporters with the name of Steve Bloomer's Watchin.

THE TWILIGHTS

Their biggest national chart success came with their dynamic cover of the Velvelettes' "Needle in a Haystack" (August 1966). Although the group was reportedly not enamored of the song, manager Gary Spry insisted that they record it and it made the Top 10.

THE THROB

The Throb were an R&B-based garage rock band from Sydney, Australia, who were active in the mid-1960s. Despite their short tenure, they achieved a brief moment of success, scoring a major hit in 1966 with a cover version of "Fortune Teller", originally recorded by Benny Spellman, and which had previously been covered by The Rolling Stones.

THE SEEKERS

"The Carnival Is Over" is a Russian folk song from circa 1883, adapted with English-language lyrics, written by Tom Springfield, for the Australian folk pop group The Seekers in 1965. The song became The Seekers' signature recording, and the band have customarily closed their concerts with it ever since its success in late-1965. At its 1965 sales peak, The Seekers' single was selling 93,000 copies per day in the UK and is No.30 in the chart of the biggest-selling singles of all time in the United Kingdom, with sales of at least 1.41 million copies in the UK alone. The track spent three weeks at No.1 in the UK Singles Chart in November and December 1965.

The song also topped the Australian charts (for six weeks, from 4 December 1965), and reached No.1 in the Irish Charts for two weeks.

THE SCREAMING JETS

THE POTBELLEEZ

Released in 2007, "Don't Hold Back" is the first single by The Potbelleez from the self-titled debut album The Potbelleez. The single is their most successful to date and received heavy airplay across Australia and was critically acclaimed. It has gone on to sell over 210,000 copies in Australia alone and won Most Played Dance Work of year at 2009 APRA Awards. It has featured as key advertising song for "Jeep - Dont Hold Back" in Australia.

THE POOR

In March 1994 The Poor Boys changed their name to The Poor to avoid confusion with a US group of the former name. That month they issued a single, "More Wine Waiter Please", in the US where it peaked at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. In May they released it in Australia and it peaked at No. 10 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

THE PARTY BOYS

In 1987 three Australian bands The Party Boys, Chantoozies and Exploding White Mice each released their own cover version of "He's Gonna Step On You Again". The Party Boys' single was issued in June, which peaked at No. 1, for two weeks, in late July on the national charts while the Chantoozies version reached No. 36.

THE ORMSBY BROTHERS

The old Lesley Gore hit “You Don’t Own Me” was recorded by Sydney sibling act The Ormsby Brothers. In July 73 the song peaked at #5.

THE MOJO SINGERS

The song was written as a 60-second jingle by Allan Johnston, Alan Morris and other creative staff at the Sydney advertising agency Mojo in 1978 to promote the second season of Kerry Packer's rebel cricket competition World Series Cricket for the Nine television network. The song eulogised players such as Dennis Lillee, the Chappell brothers Ian and Greg and Rod Marsh, used the limerick metre in its verse structure and ended with the refrain, "C'mon Aussie, c'mon, c'mon" sung again and again.

The popularity of the chorus and the success that the new cricket competition enjoyed in the 1978/79 summer season inspired the Mojo agency to recut the track and release it as a single in 1978. The jingle's double limerick was split into two, additional refrains were added and a 2' 15" version was produced for radio release and sale. Performed by the Mojo Singers (including Allan Johnston and other agency and recording studio personnel), it topped the charts in Australia for two weeks in Jan 1979.

THE MOIR SISTERS

The Moir Sisters was an Australian pop vocal trio from the mid-1970s. Their big hit, "Good Morning (How Are You?)'" (EMI, 1974), which featured their distinctive high-pitched harmonies, remained on the Australian national singles chart for 19 weeks, peaking at #8.
